QuantaChain Katenet is Live: Building the Post Quantum Blockchain for Autonomous AI Agents
QuantaChain's KateNet testnet is officially live, marking the first time a decentralized consensus mechanism operates entirely on post-quantum lattice cryptography.

The Machine to Machine M2M economy is no longer a futuristic concept it is being built right now by autonomous AI agents that negotiate trade and execute deterministic workflows. But there is a glaring security hole in this emerging economy legacy cryptography.
If an AI agent relies on vulnerable ECDSA signatures to manage funds or execute contracts a quantum adversary could forge the agent signature and hijack its entire logic loop. That is why we built QuantaChain the first Post Quantum Institutional Settlement Layer.
Today we are thrilled to share our latest traction and development updates as Katenet our primary testnet goes live.
What is QuantaChain
QuantaChain is an ultra secure production ready blockchain built in modern Rust. While other chains rely on cryptography vulnerable to Shor algorithm QuantaChain is designed as an impenetrable digital vault. It completely omits smart contracts to minimize attack surfaces focusing entirely on providing the most secure store of value network ever built using smart templates instead.
Our consensus is built on Asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance AlephBFT with native NIST standardized Falcon 512 signatures and SHA3 256 hashing. This provides the instant finality and cryptographic security required for high frequency automated agent networks.
We have built this as the execution infrastructure layer for the biggest players in the industry supporting AI compute and agent models from NVIDIA OpenAI Anthropic Google DeepMind Meta AI and Mistral AI.
The AI Agent Contract Layer
QuantaChain deliberately rejects Turing complete smart contracts EVM or WASM. Instead it provides five hardcoded auditable native contract templates written directly into the consensus engine in Rust. Each template has a fixed predictable execution path no bytecode interpreter no re entrancy and no gas estimation errors.
This eliminates the entire class of smart contract exploits while still providing the financial primitives required for a fully autonomous M2M economy.
The Native Contract Templates
- Escrow HTLC Hash Time Locked Contract where an employer locks QUA for a worker. The worker claims payment by submitting a cryptographic preimage proof of work completion.
- Agent Job Single worker AI job contract. An employer assigns a task to a specific worker address with a deadline.
- Agent Bid Auction Multi agent competitive auction. Multiple AI agents submit competitive bids with result hashes and prices.
- Payment Stream Continuous pay per block subscription. An employer deposits QUA and sets a rate per block for an AI service provider.
- Agent Registry On chain AI service discovery. Agents register themselves with an endpoint hash service type and price per call allowing other agents to hire them seamlessly.
The Tradition Why Katenet
In the broader blockchain ecosystem naming a testnet is a rite of passage. Ethereum names theirs after transit hubs and Solana uses utilitarian terms. But for Quanta the choice is profoundly personal.
Kate is not an acronym. She is not a famous cryptographer from a textbook. Kate is a real human being who believed in the Quanta vision when it was nothing more than an idea scribbled on paper. Without her unwavering selfless support during our hardest days this entire blockchain would simply not exist. Katenet honors that foundation. It stands as a permanent reminder that behind every massive cryptographic breakthrough there are real people who make the journey possible.
What is Live in V3
Katenet V3 is the proving ground for our most ambitious protocol upgrades. All of the following are live and running on Katenet today
- Delegated Proof of Stake DPoS Consensus is no longer just for whales. V3 introduces native delegation allowing any QUA holder to lock their tokens behind a trusted BFT validator to secure the network and earn a share of block rewards.
- On Chain DAO Governance We are sunsetting the centralized core team multi sig. Katenet will test the new fully decentralized Governance contract.
- Agent to Agent Payment Channels AI Agents need to stream payments for compute instantly without waiting for the 6 second block time. V3 introduces native state channels. Lock QUA stream micro payments off chain and settle on chain securely.
- Upgraded AI Smart Contracts Katenet ships with the newly optimized Escrow and AgentBid contracts enabling infinite scalability for AI inferences.
Network Traction By The Numbers
Since launching Katenet the developer and validator response has been incredible. You can view all real time data on our official block explorer QuaScan which is powered by our high speed NextJS and MongoDB indexer daemon.
Here is a snapshot of our current network traction
- Chain Height Over 132670 blocks successfully finalized.
- Validator Set We currently have 10 active validators securing the network with a cap of 21 for this phase and over 15 more node operators currently on the waiting list.
- Staking 4900000 QUA has already been staked representing a massive portion of the 6632600 QUA circulating supply.
- Throughput The network is comfortably handling current agent loads peaking at 79 TPS with standard 0.001 QUA gas fees.
The Ecosystem is Expanding
We are not just building a chain we are building the developer tools necessary to interact with it seamlessly
- Quanta Wallet Our official Chrome extension is live in the Web Store with early adopters 49 active users already testing transactions and agent deployments. It features AES GCM local encryption and deterministic HD key derivation all without touching classical elliptic curves.
- Quanta SDK Our developer toolkit quanta sdk is live on NPM. It bundles our Rust WASM crypto engine allowing engineers to build post quantum dApps and wallet integrations with just a few lines of code.

The Threat Harvest Now Decrypt Later
The quantum threat is not future. It is now. Harvest Now Decrypt Later HNDL campaigns are already active. Nation state adversaries harvest encrypted data today planning to decrypt them when quantum computers become capable enough. Every legacy signature scheme will eventually fall to Shor algorithm.
By integrating Kyber 1024 encryption and Falcon 512 signatures directly into the protocol consensus layer QuantaChain ensures that the financial and logical rails of the M2M economy remain secure for decades to come. Our Rayon parallel verification processes these signatures in just 225 milliseconds proving that quantum security does not have to compromise speed.
We will continue to update our community as traction grows more validators come online and we move closer to Mainnet. The quantum era of AI is here and QuantaChain is securing it.
